Saturday - Game Day!

The Twinzos rewarded Daddy with a good night sleep Friday night but were up early Saturday morning! It was tough to tell who was more excited for the day of sports and adventure we had planned! LSU v. Georgia, NY Rangers home opener v. Ottawa, and a little adventure hike into town in our trusty Bob all terrain stroller.

The morning routine was pretty smooth accompanied by the melodic sounds of college football in the background. After their morning nap we got ourselves prepared for the afternoon. First things first: get up, change, feed, settle, play. Check. Now its time to move the play room into the living room (so that we can watch LSU). This was completed without much difficulty - the real trick is setting it up suck that the Twinzos can't watch the television (which, by the way, is clearly the most fascinating thing they have ever laid their eyes on).

With an absurd combination of pillows, cushions and blankets I build a wall to obstruct the view from the playmat. I bask in the glory of my success! At about 1:30p they down down for their afternoon nap.

By the time they get up, its now the 4th Quarter of the LSU v. Georgia game, and LSU looks like they are trying to give the game away!! Lots to do, lots of stress. The end of the game (LSU pulls out the win, Phew!) delays our outdoor adventure slightly.

We finally get out and walk into town, stopping by the Studio Velo (bike shop) to say hello to the guys and other stores along the way. The weather is perfect and the babies are happy and treated like celebrities!

After our adventure we return home just in time for the series of events that I had been dreading ever since the weekend "alone" had been marked on the calendar: Solid foods dinner -> Bath time-> Night time routine. Any combination of two of these is just fine, but for some reason the three together (x2 of course) is asking for a meltdown!

Well, Sweet Emma did not disappoint! Some where between dinner and bath time it began, and it lasted for what seemed like an eternity! Not even Sesame Street could help. The good news is that Henry was very patient and we made it through. I even found a way to watch the rangers game during dinner (see picture).
